Welcome to Texas Cops & Communities
BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN COMMUNITIES & LAW ENFORCEMENT
Texas Cops & Communities is a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit that exists as a backbone to build capacity in communities; to close the social distance gaps between law enforcement and citizens; to empower young minds to achieve personal and educational success by developing interpersonal relationships with law enforcement, educators, community leaders, and dedicated citizens.
Build Trust
Building Trust & Transparency
Community engagement builds trust, transparency, and accountability — fostering ownership and belonging. Collaborative leadership strengthens trust and unity within communities.
Reduce Crime
Juvenile Crime Prevention
Promoting positive behaviors in children is foundational to preventing youth crime and violence. Effective programs include education, recreation, community involvement, parent-child interaction training, bullying prevention, and juvenile justice system prevention initiatives.
Educate
Training and Education
We offer educational programs for Texas youth providing the skills to be safe, healthy and happy in preparation for a successful life. Our collaborative community forums build better working relationships and address the needs of the community and our youth population.
Who We Are. Our Mission & Values
To bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community through education and positive interaction.
Texas Cops & Communities creates opportunities to improve our communities through education and a network of Wraparound Services.
Community Engagement & Educational Services
Community Education:
We work with Police Officers and the community leaders to provide classes in:
- Positive Youth Development
- Crime Prevention
- Community safety
Senate Bill 30 Training & Education
The Community Safety Education Class, under Senate Bill 30, requires schools to teach grades 9-12 proper interaction with police during traffic stops and other encounters.
Knowledge is Power Forum
The Community Forum is an effort to build better working relationships between Parents and Educators on topics affecting our youth and community such as Drugs/Vaping, Mental Health, Sex trafficking and social media.
Juvenile Detention Counseling
We partner with Village Partners to provide holistic mentoring services. Our Juvenile Mentoring program supports justice-involved youth using a Positive Youth Justice framework with Credible Messenger Mentoring.
Youth Entrepreneur Mentorship Program
The TCC Youth Entrepreneurship Package enhances leadership and entrepreneurship. It encourages teens to pursue business careers, even without college, fostering innovation, self-motivation, and resilience, and supporting community application of their knowledge.
Choices & Consequences
Consequence Make it Make Sense is an early intervention program teaching youth that certain choices can lead to jail or death. Associating with criminals can result in the same consequences.
Community Partnerships
TCC collaborates with law enforcement, probation officers, and judges to educate families and strengthen the community. With support, all youth can succeed. No exceptions.
Bridging Gaps
Empowering Youth, Parents and Communities
Texas Cops and Communities promotes a collaborative approach to serving youth through alternative community-based programs. The program aims to improve long-term outcomes such as increased access to mentoring services, higher academic performance, reduced school dropout rates, enhanced protective factors, better social and emotional well-being, decreased substance use and gang participation, increased hope and motivation for a positive future, improved public safety, stronger relationships between youth and law enforcement, and greater involvement and satisfaction among community stakeholders, youth, and families. By partnering with local organizations and collaborating with youth, families, police, juvenile judges, juvenile probation departments, and other stakeholders, the TCC program seeks to develop comprehensive solutions that increase youth access to services and enhance public safety across Texas.
Building trust between law enforcement and their communities is crucial for ensuring safety and security. Through leadership education and purposeful engagement, law enforcement can effectively bridge the gap with the communities they serve.
